Offering two forms of debate...

 

Apollos is pleased to offer coaching and instruction in two forms of debate. Team Policy and Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate will be coached using the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA) resolutions.  Apollos students attend debate camp in the summer prior to the start of the school year.

Team Policy

Team Policy Debate is a two-on-two, 90 minute debate. The affirmative team advocates for a resolution calling for policy change, and the negative team argues against it. 

 

2020-2021 Resolution - Resolved: The European Union should substantially reform its immigration policy.

Lincoln-Douglas Value

Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate is a one-on-one, 45 minute debate. The affirmative team attempts to persuade the judge that one thing should be valued over another using logic, ethics, and philosophy. 

 

2020-2021 Resolution - Resolved: In democratic elections, the public's right to know ought to be valued above a candidate's right to privacy.
