Now we need to really get into gear recruiting judges for the DBU tournament! Because this is our closest tournament, every Apollos family needs to successfully recruit 4 judges, whether or not you are competing there.


Hello Speech & Debate People,

Students, imagine yourself speaking in a room with a perfectly balanced judge panel, (Community/Alumni/Parent)… Not just a room full of exhausted parents that are judging your speech for the 3rd time.

Parents, imagine yourselves chatting with fellow parents over a cup of coffee because there were not enough ballots left for you. Or imagine actually watching your student compete!

This could be your reality at the DBU March Mixer if we step up our judge recruiting efforts!

485 slots to fill. 14 Days before the tourney! Please use the resources below to invite everyone you know and lots of people you don't to come judge.

When:  March 13th-16th

Where:  Dallas Baptist University, 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway

What is the commitment? A few hours of time, including an orientation to the judging process. No prior experience is necessary. The environment is energetic and positive. Simple meals are also provided to Community Judges, as a way of expressing our gratitude. We need your help for the Dallas Mixer tournament in THREE ways!  

AND, we have a CLUB INCENTIVE!!! READ ON!!

1. We need 1 volunteer from EACH club to help our Facilities Director, Anita Nelson, reset rooms when the tournament is over.  Please send the name of your club and name and contact info for your volunteer to Anita Nelson at anita_nelson@wycliffe.org

2. We need 1 volunteer from EACH club to help clean up the student area each evening.  Please email Robin Chenault at robincheault@yahoo.com with your club name and the name and contact info of your club’s volunteer. 

3. We need every club to assist Lora Cavanna and take on some judge recruitment efforts this week.  As it stands, we do not have enough people to fill the rounds.  We need 565 more judges this week. Yes, I said 565!!  But, God is bigger than any number!   📷

The TOP recruiting club will receive an Ice Cream Party, courtesy of Region 4!!  WOOHOO!!

Wait. What are we doing again? Oh, we are recruiting judges.
